Physical therapy is a health care specialty that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of pain, limited movement, and injury. It can also deal with the psychological, emotional symptoms, as well as the physical healing and recovery process.
Our Physical therapists take a comprehensive approach with their patients by integrating functional exercises, mobilization therapy, acupuncture, cold laser therapy, injection therapies and chiropractic care in order to build and restore a patient’s strength, full mobility, and function. Some practices, however, use physical therapy as a stand-only treatment.
Common conditions that bring patients to physical therapy include auto accidents, post stroke, rehab, athletic injuries, acute or chronic back pain, tendon or ligament programs, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, spinal stenosis, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.
In order to determine the proper treatment plan for a patient, we will assess the patient’s individual history and perform a physical examination. If necessary they will complete laboratory and imaging studies.
Our practice also treats low bulging, slipped and herniated discs, spinal stenosis, acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, pre and post surgical procedure, strengthening and stretching programs geared towards an individual’s needs.
